Battling On Community Interest Company was established in 2012 to help support members of the Armed Forces who were struggling to make the transition from military to civilian life. Since then, it has broadened to support all members of the Armed Forces community. The current project - FRESH START - supports the partners and spouses of the Armed Forces through their unique situations, boasting a bespoke, flexible provision. Battling On works by providing social spaces and one-to-one outreach. With these, we aim to provide a variety of support methods that can boost confidence, reduce social isolation, and aid in identifying transferable skills for workplace endeavours.
Our vision is that the Armed Forces Community of Plymouth and South-East Cornwall are suitably supported in all aspects of everyday life.
We envisage a local community where veterans are never forgotten. Members of the Armed Forces Community often find it difficult to adjust to civilian life. We firmly believe they all have great things to offer, and many need that helping hand back into the community.
Networking with local groups and organisations, we strive to give members of the Armed Forces Community the best opportunities to learn, collaborate and thrive.
