The weather was very accommodating as a team of Battling On volunteers arrived at Plymouth Hoe for the annual Armed Forces Day event. The day coincided with the launch of Battling On’s new-look website that we’re incredibly proud of.
It was a great day for the people of Plymouth to come out and see all that the Armed Forces has to offer, including careers, support and plenty of entertainment. In the Veterans’ Village marquee, where our stall was situated, there were plenty of organisations providing information for everything from men’s mental health to veteran employment.
Our aim at the event was to show off the variety of things that Battling On does. Our veterans delighted in telling people about the weekly veteran sessions and showing off some of the crafts that have been made over the years. We also talked about the exciting new projects we’ve got coming later in the year: Stepping Forward, Families First and Refreshing Start.
We couldn’t have done it without the standout efforts of the veterans who helped out on the stall, so we’re sending them our deepest thanks. Battling On wouldn’t be the same without you!
