Battling On has big news: We’ve been awarded grants for three new projects that will continue into 2026! The projects work to both broaden our reach across the Armed Forces Community and strengthen the work that’s already commenced prior.
This past year, we’ve been working on the FRESH START project, which aimed to support spouses and partners of Armed Forces serving personnel. We’ve met a lot of great people, built strong connections, and helped families in need.
Following on from that project, we’ll be commencing REFRESHING START, which will continue the work that we’ve done in this particular field. Once again, we’ll be endeavouring to help support spouses and partners of serving Armed Forces Personnel with a bespoke package, covering employment and familial issues.
STEPPING FORWARD will be our second project, and that will be in place to provide bespoke support for serving personnel and Veterans who consider themselves part of the LGBT+ community. We’ll be offering one-to-one outreach and also aiming to set up online and physical drop-ins for people to connect and access support.
Finally, FAMILIES FIRST will continue Battling On’s long tradition of lending support for Veterans of all branches of the Armed Forces and their families. We’re excited for the prospect of opening new hubs for local Veterans and their families, wherein we’ll have activities and guest speakers relevant to today’s ex-servicemen and women.
Of course, we’ll be continuing to run our weekly Landrake sessions, every Thursday from 1-4pm.
