Battling On presented with COVID Hero Award
Battling On are proud to announce that we have been presented with a Certificate of Recognition by Social Farms & Gardens for our response to the COVID crisis.
It has been a tough year for us all, but Battling On, along with other grassroots organisations, have been working around the clock to ensure the care and well-being of the vulnerable in our communities. Nikki and Ossie, for example, had their phones active at all times, ready to react to calls from those in need.
We will continue to help those in our community, even after the COVID restrictions pass. A big thank you goes to those involved in the awards ceremony and to Social Farms & Gardens!
We'll see you soon,

Happy New Year
2020 was a hard year for everybody. COVID restrictions made it a particularly challenging year, and we understand that moving into 2021 isn't going to make that magically disappear. However, we believe that there is a light emerging at the end of the tunnel. We hope that this year will make up for the previous!
The farm is still observing proper COVID safety protocols, so please be aware of the rules if and when they arise. But no matter what, the team at Together We Can Succeed will strive to ensure you get the most from our wonderful facilities.
We wish you a Happy New Year. We'll see you on the farm!

Christmas Caring Fundraiser
This Christmas is going to be very different for many of us, but imagine having no close family or friends to support you, nothing to look forward to. Battling On's Caring Communities appeal aims to bring a little bit of joy and hope to those most vulnerable within our communities who have suffered the most in this pandemic from social isolation and loneliness. This appeal will reach out to those living with life limiting illnesses and disabilities and the elderly.
Battling On is a multi-award winning organisation that provides wrap around care, support and training to veterans through a number of innovative programmes. Much of the work Battling On does is designed to utilise the skills of veterans to support those in need within local communities. This year our veterans and volunteers will be mobilised to distribute Christmas food parcels and gift boxes to bring a little bit of happiness to those in need.

SOLDIERING ON AWARDS 2018
On Friday 20th April we attended the Soldiering On Awards 2018 in London. It was a truly inspiring evening with many people in the room who devote their lives to making things better for other people.
Battling On was a finalist in the Forces in Mind Trust Working Together Award. We also have a close association with a finalist in the NetApp Family Values Award, where The Connell Family was nominated for their unstinting support of Battling On. Tony and Liz Connell were at the awards representing the family, and were delighted and overwhelmed to be announced as the winners.

We're really sorry for the late notice, but due to the bad weather we have to close the site today, Monday 19th March 2018. All learners will be able to make up their hours next term, so please don't worry about missing college. Stay safe and enjoy the snow! We will keep you updated but expect to be open again tomorrow.
SITE OPEN
We will be open as normal tomorrow, Tuesday 19th March 2018, with all minibus pick-ups working at your usual times. It's still very chilly so wrap up warm with plenty of layers.
Soldiering On Awards 2018
This year Battling On has two nominations which have made it through to the finals of the Soldiering On Awards. The Connell Family have been nominated for the Family Values Award for their work in supporting veterans at Merryhue Farm since 1952. Battling On is a finalist in the Forces in Mind Trust Working Together Award.
On February 8th we attended the finalist's reception at the House of Lords, hosted by General the Lord Dannatt, where our director Nikki Markham gave an inspiring speech about the impact that winning a Soldiering On Award can have.
The Awards Ceremony will take place at the Park Plaza Hotel in London on April 20th. Good luck to everyone.
